I am a licensed psychologist in Las Vegas, Nevada. I specialize in teaching people how to overcome emotional struggles and find authentic happiness. I offer a personalized approach - in a comfortable and supportive setting - tailored to your individual needs and goals.
From my years in the field, I am convinced that anyone can overcome adversity and take control of their lives with enough knowledge, coping skills, and support. I help my clients understand how to best handle the challenges they are facing, and guide
them towards a better life by showing them how to apply the power of psychology to transform their lives.
Some of the areas that I focus on in my practice include the following:
Depression: Setbacks and challenges are a part of life at times. Significant and prolonged setbacks, however, can often be a cause for depression. Others can include emotional isolation, a past history of trauma or victimization, and negative thinking patterns – just to name a few. I help people understand why they are feeling depressed, what they can do about it, and offer them tools to help them overcome their depression to get their lives back on track.
Anxiety: Although it is an unpleasant feeling, anxiety can sometimes be a healthy emotion to alert us to potential danger. When it is unhealthy or excessive, however, anxiety can dramatically reduce and restrict one’s quality of life. Signs of unhealthy anxiety can include avoiding or dreading social situations, panic attacks, and chronic feelings of tension.
Stress: As the pace of life continues to get faster and faster, it can be difficult to keep up at times. The demands of work, parenting, health issues, and economic uncertainty are some of the ways that stress can become overwhelming. When effectively managed, however, stress can be contained, and can even help us to grow in ways that ultimately improve our quality of life.
Attention Deficit Disorder: All of us are subject to procrastination, forgetfulness, distractibility, and restlessness at times. Some people, however, have significantly more problems in these areas, to the degree that they experience significant negative consequences with their job, relationships, finances, their health, or the legal system. These can be potential signs that a person is contending with symptoms of Attention Deficit Disorder.
Anger Management: Anger is part of the range of human emotions and is not inherently bad. When expressed properly and handled constructively, anger can create energy for making positive changes in our lives. When our anger, however, takes charge of us - or when it is not expressed at all - it can cause many negative consequences in our lives and relationships.
Relationships: When they are going well, relationships with family, friends, and romantic partners can be one of the greatest joys in life. At the same time, relationship challenges can be a significant source of emotional distress. Likewise, the lack of relationships – due to disconnection and emotional isolation – can also contribute to feelings of depression, loneliness, and hopelessness. In either case, having professional guidance can often be pivotal in helping one navigate the challenges that relationships sometimes present.
Spirituality: Questions and challenges related to spiritual issues can be a significant source of distress for some people. In addition, sometimes our own personal issues influence how we view ourselves and interpret what is going on in our lives. Healthy spirituality, however, can be a significant factor in good emotional health.
